GLBTQ Youth Support

The following organizations support YFT and GLBTQ youth. These resources are given to the youth as places to use for specific issues in their lives.

The Promise House - “Through crisis intervention, emergency shelter, transitional living, education, counseling, street outreach, and advocacy programs, our youth gain the tools they need to succeed.”
Pride Institute - “Providing the LGBT community a comfortable, safe alternative to traditional [mental health] treatment programs for over 20 years.”
PFLAG - “[Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays] promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with adverse society; education, to enlightened an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.”
The Trevor Project - “The Trevor Project operates the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.”
UT Southwestern AIDS Services -
Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) - “ANAD is the oldest non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the problems of eating disorders.”
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) - “Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism.”
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) - “Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based of recovering drug addict…”
Planned Parenthood - “Planned Parenthood provides quality health care and services…offers medically accurate information… [and] advances effective health policies.”
National Network for Youth - “The National Network is committed to ensuring that opportunities for growth and development be available to youth everywhere.”
